Introduction: Glider planes have many different sizes and shapes. These depends on the type of glider. In the following we will describe the most common glider types.

Scale gliders : These models are actual replicas of full scale gliders. These glider are often seen used on flying fields either for towing by an motor airplane or for pulling up by a winch.

Slope Soaring gliders : These models are build with the slope winds in mind. Thus they must be able to fly fast and be relatively insensitive to gusting winds and lifts.

Thermal gliders : These gliders are build to maximize the flight time when being kept in air by lift generated from thermal activity in the atmosphere.
